The students at Collingwood Secondary College recognised their privilege in accessing education and that this isn’t a shared experience for everyone. They specifically wanted to find a way to bridge this gap within refugee communities and partnered with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre to create Case Seeker.
‘Caseeker’ is a social enterprise selling stylish pencil cases that feed into education programs for children from refugee backgrounds. The students found this issue of importance to them and their immediate community, saying “As young people who have the privilege to go to school, we all have a passion for others to have the same opportunity in pursuing education. A lot of us also have a refugee background and acknowledge that the refugee population have a high percentage of uneducated individuals.”
You can show your support by buying a pencil case.
